What We Do

Since 1977, Tejas Missions and its founder, Dr. David Nichols have been leading annual medical/dental mission trips to
Southern Belize.

Primary projects and mission activities at Tejas Missions encompass a variety of impactful endeavors that strive to make a difference in the lives of individuals and communities. Through our dedicated efforts, we engage in initiatives that range from providing access to clean water and healthcare services in remote areas to supporting educational programs. Our diverse team of volunteers and professionals work tirelessly to address the unique and evolving needs of the regions we serve, fostering sustainable development and fostering positive change. With a commitment to compassion and collaboration, we actively seek out partnerships and innovative solutions to extend our reach and maximize our impact on Southern Belize. At Tejas Missions, we believe that by working together, we can bring about lasting transformation and build a brighter future for all.

Annual medical mission trips to the southern district of Toledo, Belize in Central America provide care in the many isolated rural villages. The Mayan Indians are the primary recipients. Periodic medical mission trips to Eastern Guatemala on the Rio Dulce are also included.

Tejas Missions also supports charity medical/dental clinics in Texas, educational projects in Belize, and other projects as decided by the board of directors. Additional volunteers who want to travel with the teams are decided on a case-by-case basis. Volunteers pay their own travel, hotel, and food expenses. Medical, dental, college and high school students often are part of the teams.
